The best thing about this app is that you don’t need extensive knowledge of meteorology in order to understand what’s happening in the sky. The clean and simple interface offers plenty customizations, smart forecasts, and social weather observations. The best part is that the WunderMap uses crowdsourcing to verify their weather reports, meaning that their weather report is always spot on.

As the title says, the best thing about this weather app are the social weather reports. From there you can update the local weather status and with a great number of users, the local weather predictions are very accurate. the design of the app is gorgeous providing us with a number of great background pics. The only negative side is the lack of customization and the number of ads.

Solar: Weather (iOS)
Best minimal weather app
This weather app has the cleanest minimal interface with great and intuitive controls. On the screen, you will find only the current temperature and forecast for a couple of days. No humidity, no wind speed and similar nonsense that needs meteorology course to be understood. It uses an API from the WeatherUnderground website, so you’ll know that the information will be pretty accurate.
Most informational weather app
If you want all kind of weather information and alerts, then this is the app for you. Offering hourly, daily and 15-day weather forecast for more than 3 million locations across the world. It has the MinuteCast feature that provides a minute-by-minute forecast for the next two hours, and customizable alerts for incoming severe weather. Supports the Apple watch as well.

Dark Sky Weather (iOS)
Best overall weather app
When we take all the great functions from the other apps on our list, combine them, remove the adds and add great design we get the Dark Sky weather app. I know that this is a paid app and that it’s not fair to compare it to the free ones. But trust me when I say that is worth the money. It has great design, astonishing globe radar, custom weather alerts and an integration with the Apple Watch.
